This course explores the relationship between sound and image through contemporary creative practice. Students will select a piece of music or sound and develop a visual interpretation in the form of a video clip, motion piece, or experimental audiovisual work. The course combines AI-based tools for image and video generation, editing, and audiovisual experimentation with more traditional creative methods such as research, storyboarding, filming, animation, and compositing.
The emphasis of the course is not on stylistic uniformity, but on the development of an individual visual language. Students are encouraged to approach sound as a source of meaning, atmosphere, rhythm, and narrative, and to transform it into a coherent visual concept. The course supports a wide range of outcomes, from narrative and documentary forms to abstract, performative, and experimental projects.
Structured as an open creative laboratory, the course guides students through the full process of audiovisual production — from research and conceptual development to visual testing, production, and final presentation. Throughout the course, students will critically engage with both AI and non-AI tools, refine their ideas through discussion and feedback, and produce an original audiovisual project intended for public presentation.
